This website is dedicated to poetry in general and the poetry of James E. Cox (Jim), in particular. By browsing through the "Navigation" section you can learn more about the author and his published works. "Sunset" is a section that highlights poems that explore the feelings that a beautiful Arizona sunset or sunrise can arouse. The "Links and Chat" section provides links to other websites that support poetry, writing and publishing. It is also the area that the author responds to visitors, friends and family. Comments and questions can be posted by navigating to the "Post a Comment" area at the bottom of the "As The Mood Prescribes" section or in the "Comments" area at the bottom of the "Link and Chat" section.

I am a retired aerospace physicist and I have resided in SaddleBrooke, Arizona for over fourteen years. As a senior physics major in college my poems won special recognition in the school's literary magazine.

I am a Distinguished Member of the International Society of Poets and recognized as a Poet Laureate in that society. I am also a professional member of the Society of Southwest Authors and a member of the SaddleBrooke Writer's Group. My poems have apppeared in fourteen chap books, newspapers, magazines and many anthologies published internationally by the Poetry Guild, among which are “The Best Poems & Poets of 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.” I submit a poem to the Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge's newsletter, The Bugle every month.

My published books, The Essence of Jim , As the Mood Prescribes and Rubai were all published by Authorhouse and are available through them or can be ordered at local bookstores.
